Apple Roses are the perfect snack or sweet treat.
They are easy to make and taste great too!
Apple Roses are definitely a favourite in our family.
- 2 sheets frozen puff pastry, thawed
- 2 red apples, cut into 2mm slices (1/2 inch)
- 1 tbsp lemon juice
- 4 tsp caster sugar
- 1 tbsp water
- 1/2 tsp cinnamon
- 20 grams butter, melted (1/2 ounce)
- icing sugar, to dust
Pre-heat oven to 200c/392f and grease a 12 hole muffin tin
Place sliced apples, lemon juice and 2 teaspoons of sugar in a microwave-safe bowl. Cover and cook on high for one minute. Mix carefully and continue cooking for another minute. Place apple slices on paper towel and pat dry.
Combine cinnamon and remaining caster sugar in a bowl.
Cut each pastry sheet into five. Brush with melted butter. Sprinkle with cinnamon sugar.
Place slices of apple along one long edge of pastry so they hang over. Make sure each slice overlaps. Fold pastry over. Brush pastry with melted butter. Gently roll and place into muffin tin. Repeat with remaining nine roses.
Bake for 20 minutes/until golden.
Remove from tin and dust with icing sugar.
