There is no ‘wrong’ way of homeschooling – do what works for you and your children.
Are few of the different methods are:
School-at-home is where your child learns online, following the core curriculum for your State. All your child’s work is marked and graded by teachers hired by the website.
The Charlotte Mason Method
This method is based on Ms Mason’s belief that the whole person must be educated, not just the mind.
“Education is an Atmosphere, a Discipline, a Life.”
Unschooling first came to light in the 1970’s and was inspired by John Holt.
Unschooling is where children learn through play, curiosity, household chores and personal interests rather than ‘book learning’.
This is the bracket our homeschool falls into.
We use a variety of curriculums – free, paid, online, workbooks, excursions, TV documentaries, YouTube.
We follow some core subjects – Math, English, LOTE, Science, etc but we learn in a variety of ways, speeds and sub-topics.
Whichever style you choose, remember – have fun!
Below you will find links to the resources we use and have used in our homeschool.
